P1-7 bulletin: Thursday 29th April 2021

Dear families,

Please take a moment to read this week’s weekly bulletin that, we hope, provides helpful information about the coming week and this term.

Don’t forget, school is closed tomorrow (Friday 30th) and Monday (3rd May).

Curriculum overviews – the planned learning for this term

As we embark on this summer term, we are even more committed to ensuring the learning we provide for our children is the right learning. Each class teacher has created a curriculum overview that sets out the planned learning for the coming weeks. All curriculum overviews have been uploaded to the school website and can be found here.

PE days – for your diary

Whilst we are keen for children to have their PE kits every day (just in case), we’ve had a number of requests to clarify the exact days each class has their taught PE lesson. So, in order throughout the day…

  • Mondays: P45F / P4C / P2W / P3F / P7W
  • Tuesdays: P6P / P56BB / P5M / P12W / P7SB
  • Wednesdays: P56BB / P3F / P7W / P1R / P5M
  • Thursdays: P45F / P4C / P6P / P2W / P7SB

Please ensure your child has a full PE kit on these days; it makes PE a much better experience if wearing the right clothes!

Parent Council Zoom meeting – all welcome

We have scheduled an online meeting for the evening of Thursday 13th May, 7-8pm via ZOOM (joining details will be shared next week). ALL parents and carers are warmly invited to attend. At next week’s meeting, there will be the usual school update from Mr Bewsey as well as the normal discussions about fundraising. Please join us if you can.

Parent/teacher phone calls – it’s good to talk

As part of this summer term, we want to offer a final parent/teacher conversation before your child(ren) end this school year. Appointment slots will be shared next week for phone calls on the evenings of Tuesday 25th and Thursday 27th May. We hope this 10 minute conversation with your child’s teacher provides a helpful insight into their current and future learning.

Staying vigilant – protecting all of us takes all of us

Ensuring the health and wellbeing of our children, our staff and you as families is our number one priority right now. Please help us by:

1) Following the ‘4 steps for being safe on the school run’;

  • Adults must wear a face covering at drop off / pick up.
  • Stick to one adult at drop off / pick up.
  • Adults keep 2 metres apart.
  • Avoid car sharing.

2) Being vigilant about COVID-19 symptoms; self-isolate if required and follow NHS ‘Test and Protect’ advice. Please phone the school to let us know if a member of your household tests positive.

3) Reporting a child’s positive test result immediately either by phoning the school (if during office hours) or using our new ‘positive test’ form.
