Nursery bulletin: Friday 12th March 2021

Dear nursery families,

I can’t believe how quickly Friday has come around this week.  Week three has been a busy week at Nursery.  All of the staff keep commenting on how surprised and delighted they are by how well all the children have settle back into nursery.   They are amazing!

Highlights from this week:

 ELC 1

This week the children have particularly enjoyed:

  • Going to the secret garden twice a week. The children have been noticing the signs of Spring, the flowers growing, birds singing and the garden becoming greener.  Some had snack in the garden followed by a warming cup of hot chocolate.
  • Building dens in the nursery has sparked the imagination of the children, some used brick and blocks to make walls, “like the three little pigs”, and others used pieces of fabric to make a cosy den under the table.
  • Setting up their farm with the tractors working in the fields and the animals in their pens. We have been hearing lots of conversation about animals and their babies and all the jobs that need to be done.
  • Seeing the changes we have made to the nursery. The staff have been busy tidying the garden and have rearranged equipment outdoors and inside we have some new furniture.  These changes help us make the most of the spaces we have and the experiences we are able offer the children.  It always makes it worthwhile when the children immediately notice and enjoy exploring and playing in the new spaces.
  • Our cooks have had the opportunity to make cakes, porridge and shortbread.

Reminder:

Labelling

It would be really helpful if you could make sure that you label all of your child’s belongings so that we can make sure that they get returned, especially clothing and water bottles.

ParentPay

Many thanks to the people who continue to make snack payments, this money is used for the children’s snacks twice a day and also to pay for our ingredients for baking.  Please use ParentPay to make snack payments of 50p per child per day.

Illness

Aware of the rise in Covid cases nationally, we are continuing to be vigilant to keep everyone in our learning community safe. If your child shows any symptoms of being unwell, please do keep them at home. If anyone in the family shows symptoms of Covid-19, please follow the NHS Scotland guidance, which can be found here.  Thank you for working with us to keep our school community safe.

Have a lovely weekend and Happy Mothers day!

Love from,

The Nursery Team
