School bulletin: Friday 18th December 2020

It’s Christmas!

A note from Mr Bewsey

On behalf of all of Team Edenside, I want to thank you for your unwavering support of the school over this first term. As with every other part of life right now, school has been very different but we hope your children continue to feel safe and secure, free to learn and laugh.

I wish you all a very happy Christmas, albeit a smaller and safer one. 2021 holds a measure of hope but we must all continue to think of the wellbeing of others and ourselves as we welcome in the new year.

Take care everyone. Jingle Bells

Crazy Christmas week

The past 5 days have been crazy, full of fun and laughter. We started the week with our first ever ‘show in a day’, which we hope you enjoyed watching as a family. Then on Tuesday we all enjoyed bubble parties, which saw our P7s enjoy a campfire and our other classes dancing and playing games. Wednesday was our annual Christmas lunch which was a great success, thanks to our amazing kitchen team. Just yesterday, the children enjoyed watching the very funny ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ online pantomime; much hilarity! To finish the week, every bubble relaxed and enjoyed a festive film – there are so many good ones to choose from!

Just for fun, we’ve compiled the highlights from this week into a short video…

January 2021

Whilst school closes for the festive break today, we look forward to welcoming children back to school on TUESDAY 5th January. There are a few important reminders:

  • Breakfast Club will be available from 8am, at a cost of £2 per child, payable through ParentPay. Please note, any child that attends breakfast club before 8.45am (apart from bus children) needs to pay for the service, even if not eating breakfast.
  • PE kits should be brought into school on the first day and left in school for the week.
  • Remember to order school lunches for the first week back via ParentPay.
  • Please send a healthy, daily snack. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a snack for very child that forgets theirs.
  • Our first whole-school learning theme for January is “The Heart of Scotland; what make’s Scotland special?” which will culminate with a Burns Lunch on Wednesday 27th January.

Take care everyone. Have a safe and happy Christmas.

Love from Team Edenside x
