Nursery Friday bulletin; 21st August 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s hard to believe we are at the end of week 2 already. Our returning children have settled in so well that it almost feels like they have never been away. Our new starts have made a lot of progress with settling in too.

We have had positive feedback from many of you regarding the new drop off and collection system and your child’s overall happiness at nursery. Thank you for this feedback, as it’s always good to hear your thoughts on the service we provide. We’re always happy to hear your thoughts on what we can do better as well, so we’ll be sending out a short survey next week.

Highlights from this week:

  • In the beautiful weather this week children have helped with a tidy up of our Nursery Garden and have shared their ideas on how to improve it. (Watch this space!)
  • Children have been outdoors a lot using the tyres and loose parts in the garden for climbing, jumping and balancing.
  • Some of the children went on an exciting ‘adventure’ to the school field this week to explore the wooded areas along the side of the field.
  • We have done a lot of baking, including playdough and cheese scones.
  • Children have been thinking about families this week and have produced some wonderful masterpieces of their own families in our art areas.
  • We have been listening to Fischy Music songs, with lots of dancing and ‘musical marching’ about!

Snacks next week:

News:

Snack Money

We are currently investigating how to move to a cashless system for collection of snack money to reduce the risk that handling cash poses for our staff.  We will keep you updated with details once they are clear. In the meantime, please continue to send in your snack money in a sealed labelled envelope. A contribution of 50p per day that your child attends nursery is suggested.

Nut free environment

Due to nut allergies, we must ask that no foods containing nuts are sent in packed lunches. Please help us keep all children safe at Edenside.

Have a lovely weekend!

Kind regards,

The Nursery Team
