Nursery Friday bulletin; 14th August 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Happy Friday everyone! We’ve made it through the first week of the return to nursery. In fact, we haven’t just ‘made it through’, we’ve triumphed! The hard work of the team, the willingness of the children and the support of our families has made this return a real success.

We have been very impressed with how well our new starts and our returning children have settled in, despite the new measures that are in place for safety. Thank you to you all for your support as we have put these measures in place.

We will continue to use our dedicated entry and exit points, with drop off between 8:50 and 9:00 am Monday through Friday. Collection time will remain 3:10-3:20 Monday through Thursday, with 12:40-12:50 on Fridays.

Highlights from this week:

  • Lots of new friendships have been formed, while some old friendships have resumed where they left off.
  • We have seen some really rich, risky play in the outdoor area, with children setting up their own challenges using loose parts. I think it’s safe to say that some of our children missed the nursery garden over lockdown!
  • There has been a lot of creative building in our block play area, with new elaborate structures and barricades popping up in the main playroom.
  • Our new starts had an ‘adventure’ walking in the school grounds, as one of them described it!

News:

Next week we will begin our visits to the Secret Garden, so if you haven’t brought in a pair of labelled Wellies for your wee one, please do so soon.

We have a new member of the team joining us next week. We look forward to welcoming our new Modern Apprentice, Miss Gemma Carr officially on Monday, although she has visited this week to get to know the children and staff.

Kind regards,

The Nursery Team
