Nursery bulletin: Friday 9th October 2020

Dear parents and carers,

It is hard to believe we have been back at Nursery for nine weeks already, the children have settled in very well and have adjusted to any changes we have had make. We are extremely proud of how resilient and adaptable your children are and hope you are too.

Highlights from this week:

· The children have spent lots of time out in the garden and particularly enjoyed riding and sharing the bikes and scooters.

· Tag counting (counting items as they are touched one by one) has continued to be seen during the day in the nursery, counting fruit on their snack plates, spots on ladybirds, scones on the baking tray.

· Children have baked banana and chocolate chip muffins, fruit scones and some made their own play dough

· Children have been discovering letters in the large sandpit and have been looking out for the letters in their names.

· Our budding authors have been creating pirate stories and made wanted posters to continue with the children’s interest in pirates.

Snacks next week:

Monday Rice cakes Selection of fresh fruit
Tuesday Angel delight/jelly/custard Selection of fresh fruit
Wednesday Crackers and cheese Selection of fresh fruit
Thursday Toast with a selection of toppings Selection of fresh fruit

Reminder:

October holiday

We are on holiday from Friday 9th October returning to Nursery Tuesday 20th October. Enjoy the break and we look forward to seeing you when we’re back.

Parent Postcards

Thanks to everyone who has responded to the parent postcards, if you haven’t had time to respond please bring them in after the October holiday. These form part of your child’s learning journey and we really value your opinion so we can work together to enhance your child’s experiences both at home and at Nursery.

Illness

Aware of the rise in Covid cases nationally, we are continuing to be vigilant to keep everyone in our learning community safe. If your child shows any symptoms of being unwell, please do keep them at home. If anyone in the family shows symptoms of Covid-19, please follow the NHS Scotland guidance, which can be found here. Thank you for working with us to keep our school community safe.

Have a lovely break! We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 20th October J

Kind regards,

The Nursery Team
