Happy Friday everyone!
We’ve made it through the first week of the return to school. In fact, we haven’t just ‘made it through’, we’ve triumphed! The hard work of the school staff, the willingness of the children and the support of our families has made this return a real success.
The purpose of this and future Friday bulletins is simply to ensure that you, as parents and carers of P1-7 children, receive important information about the coming week. So, for next week…
Morning drop-off
- P1s: all children should arrive at 9am. Please give “cuddles and kisses” at the main red gates and children will walk up to ‘the yard’ to meet teachers.
- P2s-7s: all children to arrive no earlier than 8.50am and head straight to classrooms.
- Bus children: any children arriving by bus BEFORE 8.50am are directed to the hall before joining their class.
Afternoon pick-ups
- P1s: all children should be collected at 3.20pm (12.45pm on Fridays) from ‘the yard’. Please continue to arrive through the swimming pool car park.
- P2s-4s: all children to be collected at 3.30pm (12.50pm on Fridays) from their coloured zones. Please continue to arrive through the swimming pool car park.
- P5s-7s: all children (except those with younger siblings) are being dismissed at 3.25pm (12.45pm on Fridays). Please make arrangements for them to walk home or meet you at a safe pick-up point outside of school. For those with younger siblings, the children will wait outside their classroom for you to collect them once you have their siblings.
PE
- As per Scottish Government guidance, all physical activity should take place outside (not in the gym hall).
- Please send your children with outdoor trainers. Outdoor sportswear (joggies and jumpers) would also be good for cooler days.
- Teachers will be taking classes outside for physical activity throughout the week so please ensure your child has a PE kit on Monday ready for the week ahead.
- We will return PE kits on a Friday to be washed over the weekend (even if not dirty), as per national hygiene guidance.
Morning and afternoon break
As part of our new routines, we have introduced an afternoon break as well as a morning break. Please feel free to send TWO healthy snacks (but no nuts), if that is convenient. Alternatively, many children have chosen to save their lunchtime fruit for the afternoon.
Packed lunches
As part of our efforts to be a safe school, we ask that you do not send any peanut butter sandwiches or other nut products. Thank you.
