Nursery bulletin: Friday 12th November 2021

Dear families,

Time flies when you’re having fun is definitely the motto that we have been living by this week.

Highlights from this week:

To help the children celebrate their birthday at nursery we are supporting the children to bake their own cake with a small group of friends.  Once cooked and decorated, they get to share it with all the children in the nursery.  This week’s cake was a great success and really made the day special for one little boy.  As well as being a great activity for the children it also means that you don’t need to worry about bringing a cake in.

We discovered some new outdoor equipment.  The children excitedly unpacked the box and helped put it together like a puzzle.  They took it in turns placing the balance sections together until they had used them all up and made a ‘huge snake’.  The children walked along the snake carefully from one end to the other, with precision, patience and using their arms to help them.  After a while the children decided to use the loose parts planks to extend the snake around the garden and make their snake even bigger.

One particular activity that has captured the children’s interest is the poppy making station.  The children were given a photo of a poppy along with some red and black paper, green pipe cleaners, lolly sticks, scissors and glue.  We were amazed with the beautiful poppies that the children created.  We also discussed the reason why people wear poppies at this time of year and the importance of 11th November and who we remember.  The children took part in the minute silence to show their respect.

Daily snack:

The children have a variety of fruit and vegetable sticks for morning and afternoon snack along with a drink of milk or water.
