P1-7 bulletin: Friday 17th September 2021

It’s another Friday! Where does the time go? We hope you have a good weekend and, until next week, here’s a few bits of news and information…

What matters to you?

At the Parent Council meeting this week, Mr Bewsey asked the question ‘what matters to you as parents?’ As a school, we want to work with you to ‘be the best we can be’. We want you to be confident in what we do, in what your children experience when you leave them with us every day.

We’d love to get your thoughts on a the question what matters to you? When you think about sending your child to school, what is it that you want for them? What matters?

To share your thoughts, simply follow this link and add your voice or send us a wee message via the very simple get in touch form. Thank you!

Family phone calls – term 1

Every term, we provide a formal opportunity for you to talk to your child’s teacher. With the ongoing COVID restrictions, we can’t invite you into school so we need to continue our phone calls. The first ‘family phone calls’ of this school year will be on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th October. This will provide a 10 minute chat about your child and their learning. More details will follow soon.

Head lice – all you need to know

Being back in school means the potential for head lice; it’s just a reality of spending all day in close proximity to other people. As a school, we think it it important that families know about how to treat head lice – keep checking for them and then acting. This really helpful leaflet tells you everything you need to know.

We’ll be sharing more information over the school year, including our involvement in the Bug Busting initiative.

COVID update – Home learning tasks while awaiting PCR results

In the event that your child needs to remain at home awaiting a PCR result, we’d like to sign post you to a collection of online learning activities that have been provided by Education Scotland. There are 3 learning levels, depending on your child’s age. Just follow the relevant link below:
