P1-7 bulletin: Friday 27th August 2021

Happy Friday everyone. Here’s this week’s bulletin. Have a safe weekend.

Facebook class pages

If you’ve not already seen the Groupcall email sent out yesterday, please check your inbox for an invitation to join your child’s new class Facebook page. These have been incredibly positive over the past 18 months in giving you,, as families, a ‘window into learning’.

Please note the ‘rules of the group’ when you request to join, including a reminder that for all communication with class teachers we still ask you to use the usual channels, set out below. Thank you.

COVID reminder

We have been remarkably fortunate so far in terms of the impact of COVID within our school. We are very aware of the increase in daily cases within the community and so ask for your ongoing vigilance in keeping our school as COVID-safe as we can.

Remember…

1) Report a child’s positive test result immediately either by phoning the school (if during office hours) or using our new ‘positive test’ form.

2) Be vigilant about COVID-19 symptoms; self-isolate if required and follow NHS ‘Test and Protect’ advice. Please phone the school to let us know if a member of your household tests positive.

3) Follow the ‘4 steps for being safe on the school run’;

  • Adults must wear a face covering at drop off / pick up.
  • Stick to one adult at drop off / pick up.
  • Adults keep 2 metres apart.
  • Avoid car sharing.

ParentPay reminder

Everyone should now be up and running with ParentPay for this new school year. Thank you for your patience with some of the technical glitches. Please remember to book meals for your child even if they benefit from free school meals (including all P1-4 children). Thank you.

Paperwork reminder

Earlier this week, we sent envelopes home with every pupil which contained the annual data check form and other paperwork. If you haven’t already checked these forms, please do so and return them as soon as possible. Thank you to the 65% of families who have already responded.

PE kit reminder

This week’s PE lessons with Mr Stobie have gone done well with all classes. Almost all children have had their PE kit on the right day – well done!

Please keep ensuring you send a PE kit either at the start of each week or on the correct days.

For those classes with PE first thing in the morning (marked in bold), they can come to school wearing their kit and bring their uniform with them to school.
