Crazy Christmas plans

We’re getting excited about the final two weeks of term. We’ve been working really hard up to this point, keeping core learning the priority but from Monday we’re letting our hair down and getting fully into the festive fun. We’ll be creating the Edenside Show, enjoying parties, making Christmas cards to send to local care homes and attending the church for a nativity service. Then in the last week we’ll be going to the panto (well online panto), eating a Christmas lunch, watching our Edenside show and singing carols around the Kelso Town Christmas tree. Phew – I’m exhausted just writing this!

Don’t forget, from Monday children are invited to ‘wear something Christmassy’ every day. It could be tinsel in hair or a fun Elf jumper. It’s all for fun.

COVID 19 update – Omicron

With the new Omicron variant making the news at the moment, we are continuing to be vigilant in our safety measures. We continue to wear face masks, maintain social distance, sanitise our hands, ventilate rooms and test regularly. Please, as families, do all you can to ensure we make it to the end of the term as healthily as possible. Please be extra vigilant in spotting and acting on any COVID symptoms. Let’s do this together. Thank you.

Parent Council thanks

On behalf of our children and families, I want to express my thanks to our Parent Council for all their efforts in providing some ‘normal’ Christmas activity. The ‘make your own’ cards and mugs was a great success, with completed items to be delivered next week. Then the Swap Shop was a great community option for being environmental friendly by reusing Christmas clothing instead of throwing items away. And finally, the 50/50 prize draw is a simple but effective way to raise some much needed funds for the school and give a lucky winner a nice surprise just before Christmas. So thank you Parent Council – you’re the best!
