Dear families,
There is no doubt that Christmas has arrived in the nursery. I’m sure you are more than aware by the amount of glitter that comes home with your child.
Highlights from this week:
The children have been involved in festive activities at the art table. We support their creativity by asking what materials they would like and continue to add extra items when they are requested. This week has involved lots of glue, glitter, sequins and paper cut by the children into their chosen shapes and sizes.
The children chose to have the Duplo ‘toolo’ in the construction area. This was the first time some of the children were seeing this resource in nursery and it has been incredibly popular. The children were making vehicles using bricks, arms, scoops, tracks and wheels which have to secured using a screwdriver. There are three units which have remote controls and the children have persevered to get their models to move forwards, backward, left and right.
The children were talking about the effects of the storm in the Secret Garden this week when they noticed lots of broken branches and twigs lying on the pathways. The children worked together to remove some of the obstacles and were very proud of their efforts. When the children returned to nursery the had hot chocolate along with their snack to warm up.
The children have been practising their mark making skills writing letters and lists to Father Christmas and cards for their friends before posting them in our very own post box.
Daily snack:
The children have a variety of fruit and vegetable sticks for morning and afternoon snack along with a drink of milk or water.

Keeping Warm
Please make sure your child brings a hat and gloves to wear at nursery. We try our hardest to make sure they get sent home but we’d be grateful if you could make sure all items are labelled to make this job easier.
Illness
We are continuing to be vigilant and to keep everyone in our learning community safe. If your child shows any symptoms of being unwell, please do keep them at home. If anyone in the family shows symptoms of Covid-19, please follow the NHS Scotland guidance. Thank you for working with us to keep our school community safe. If your child is unwell/going to be absent from nursery please notify the school via telephone (01573 224264) or send a message through the Expressions App.
Have a lovely weekend!
Kind regards,
The Nursery Team
