Nursery bulletin: Thursday 22nd October 2021

Dear families,

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday, it was lovely to hear stories of the children’s October week adventures.

Highlights from this week:

 elc

The children thoroughly enjoyed their garden experiences on Wednesday, some children visited the Secret Garden and others went for a walk and played in the school field.  The children were using their senses to talk about what they could see, what they could hear and what they could smell.

When they were in the field some children collected sticks, feathers and leaves to use as painting tools when they returned to nursery.  They chose colours that they had seen on the leaves and produced amazing art work.

Before the holidays Mrs Douglas and Mrs Little made a few alterations in the nurture room, it was great to see the children returning and being really excited about the changes that had been made.  The children were fascinated by the light box and were looking at shapes and colours and hiding objects underneath.

It all started with statement – “We want to make potions”.  We made a list of all the things they needed, jugs, sparkles, spoons, bowls, buttons, green paint, pink paint, glitter, orange paint, grass and leaves, to make gooey potions.  They poured, mixed and sprinkled in the ingredients to make their own magic potions and quite a lot of mess!

It’s been a very quick week but the children have managed to fit in a lot of learning.

Daily snack:

The children have a variety of fruit and vegetable sticks for morning and afternoon snack along with a drink of milk or water.
