P1-7 bulletin: Friday 4th February 2022

We’ve had a much more settled week; phew! The number of positive COVID cases is reducing, with all staff and almost all children now back to school. It’s been a great week of learning, with our new BIG question ‘How can Science help us?’ providing some exciting investigations and discussions. PE this week has also been a highlight, with classes enjoying the fitness circuits provided by Mr Sutton.

Parent phone calls – it’s good to talk

If you haven’t already, please book a family phone call for the evening of Tuesday 8th or Wednesday 9th February. If for some reason the email hasn’t appeared in your inbox, please check your junk box before getting in touch with us at school. We will, of course, help in any way we can.

Just for fun – non-uniform day ‘Wear something red’

Next Friday (11th Feb), we’re inviting children to come to school in their own clothes, ideally wearing something red. With Valentines Day during the half term, this will be a fun way to ‘dress down’ and raise a little bit of money for the school. A 50p donation will be collected on the morning by our P7s.

Books, books, books? Yes please!

Would you be willing to have a clear out of your bookshelves? Might you have some good quality children’s books that you’d be willing to donate to the school library? Our amazing Parent Council will be hosting a book amnesty on Friday 25th February (after the half-term break). Just send any donations to school after the half term. Thank you.

Dogs in the playground? No thank you.

Please remember that we do not allow dogs onto the school grounds, which includes the playground areas. We also ask that you try to keep dogs away from the main gates at drop-off or pick-up time each day to ensure a clear and safe zone for children to arrive at or leave the school. Thank you

Positive COVID-19 cases update

If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please inform the school as soon as possible, either by phone or email.

Under the latest guidance, only the person who tests positive needs to stay at home. This means siblings of a positive case do not need to isolate. Similarly, children of a positive parent do not need to isolate. However, we do understand any parental choice to keep family members at home in the event of a positive case so please get in touch to discuss your individual circumstances.

All in-school contact is deemed as low risk meaning there is no need to isolate unless contacted directly by Test & Protect.

Home learning support is available for any child who tests positive and needs to stay off school. Click here for full details. This support is an offer and needs only be completed if the child is well enough and can be supported at home to complete the tasks.

Please be assured we are working really hard to keep everyone safe and to keep learning happening.
