Welcome back everyone. It’s been a very positive first week back after the holidays, with the sunshine helping a lot!
The term ahead
It’s fair to say that the summer term in a primary school is busy and the coming term is no exception. There’ll be a lot of learning, laughter and love. Our BIG question for this term is ‘What’s so special about Kelso?’ This will provide lots of opportunities to get out and about, visiting local sites of interest and developing our understanding of the place we call home.
Over the coming weeks, we hope to enjoy a number of walks around the town. We already have signed permission to do this from most families so we don’t need additional paperwork BUT we will let you know, in advance, of any plans. Please keep an eye on Groupcall and class Facebook groups for updates.
We’re also hopeful of being able to host some ‘normal’ events over the coming weeks, details of which are below. We will need to follow national and local guidance at the time but, fingers crossed we’ll be able to enjoy a traditional school summer term.
Be prepared
With the sun shining, please ensure you send your child ‘ready for anything’. As we live in Scotland, the weather in the morning is not always a guarantee of the weather later in the day. Sun hats, sun screen, water bottles but also a thin waterproof coat should all be considered on a daily basis. The kids will need a suitcase for school!
