If you are running out of jotter space or need coloured pencils for this week’s learning grid task, we have set up a ‘help yourself’ stationery box in the foyer of the Kelso Hub (Broomlands P.S.).

Please pop along anytime to collect anything you need to keep the learning going.

Education Scotland ‘ParentZone’ – updated information

During this period of school closure, advice and support for parents is more necessary than ever. The ParentZone website, provided by Education Scotland, has a lot of really helpful information.

Given the increase in online use by all of us, not just children, of particular note are the following:

Learning at home – an update

With the Easter holidays over, we return to our normal home learning plan and have uploaded the new set of learning grids to the school website. As with last time, if you are unable to print a copy, you can collect them from the Broomlands hub.

ALSO…

To support the continued learning from home, we are introducing a new online support option for all families. Using Facebook, all classes will have a private and secure online group, hosted by class teachers. We have chosen to use Facebook because the large majority of our families already use this platform and it can be supervised by parents. We didn’t want to try and introduce something new which could lead to unnecessary confusion.

We will send a separate Groupcall email providing a unique invitation to each child’s class group page. To ensure we all use this new support appropriately, please take a moment to read the ‘Edenside online class groups guidance’ that will be attached with your invitation email.
