Whole School Bulletin Friday 24th June

Happy Friday everyone! We’ve made it to the end of our last full week of this session, where has the time gone?!

Shorts and Shades

Thank you for supporting today’s Parent Council Fundraiser. It was great to see the children looking so summery on another warm day!

50/50 Draw

The Parent Council 50/50 draw will be made next Thursday. There is still time to be a part of the draw. Please hand in forms and money at the start of the week.

Classes next session

P2-P7 classes will move up to meet their new teachers on Tuesday 28th June in the afternoon. Letters will be sent home on Monday confirming your child’s class and teacher for next session.

High School Visit

Our P7s have returned after a successful 3 day visit to Kelso High School. Some of the highlights were:

  • burning magnesium on a bunsen burner in Science
  • making chocolate crispies in Home Economics
  • having double P.E. and playing basketball and softball
  • meeting our new classmates
  • following a timetable
  • going to different classrooms and having different teachers
  • the food at lunchtime was amazing!

School Uniform

As we approach the end of term and thoughts turn to buying new uniform for the new school year we would like to remind everyone that wearing uniform is a practice the school encourages, and we seek the support of parents in this matter.

Our uniform consists of a red sweatshirt/cardigan bearing the school badge or a plain red sweatshirt/cardigan, (navy or winter emerald for Primary 7 pupils) white shirt or polo shirt, black trousers or skirts and black shoes. T-Shirts and polo Shirts for PE are available from the school’s sweatshirt supplier, and an order can be placed at any time online from our suppliers. Please note, we discourage any jeans/sports leggings and unsuitable footwear and the wearing of football/rugby team colours. We do ask that all articles of clothing and footwear are labelled with the child’s name in indelible ink, not just initials.

Breakfast Club

As final reminder for users of breakfast club to please ensure their Parent Pay accounts are in credit to cover the final week of term.

P7 Residential – new P7’s in August

A reminder that the interim payment of £45 needs to be paid via ParentPay by the end of August.
