P1-7 bulletin: Friday 10th September 2021

It’s the end of another busy and hot(!) week. The children have been working hard whilst enjoying the sunshine; working hard, playing hard as the saying goes. For next week, here are a few point to note.

COVID update

Please take a moment to note the following important points:

  • Continue to be vigilant in identifying symptoms in your child (temperature, new continuous cough, change in sense of taste or smell). If your child shows any of these, please keep them off school and get them tested.
  • When awaiting test results, your child will need to remain at home, hopefully just for 24 hours, until the test result comes through. If the test result is negative, your child can come back to school.
  • If your child gets a positive test result, they will need to isolate for 10 days. In this event, we will provide a ‘home learning’ work pack, if your child is well enough to complete it. This is a support not an expectation.
  • If anyone else in your household tests positive for COVID 19, please contact us at school to discuss the possible implications for your child.

Parent Council meeting reminder

Have you got next Wednesday, 15th September, 7.30 – 8.30pm in your diary? It’s our next Parent (Family) council meeting and we’d love to see you there, albeit on ZOOM. It will be a chance to meet with Mr Bewsey and other parents and carers about what’s going on in school. It’s a chance to get involved in the life and work of the school. See you there?

Back to school wellbeing

As we come to the end of week 4 of ‘back to school’, our children and staff continue to have an overwhelmingly positive experience. For a few children, the ‘honeymoon’ of the new class and school year has ended and we are working hard to ensure every child is happy to come to school. It is important to remember that most of our children had the same teacher and classmates for 2 full years prior to August; not being with these familiar people can be difficult to adapt to.

Almost all children have adjusted well and settled into the new school year but if you have any concerns about your child, please get in touch. We’re here to help.

Class Facebook reminder

Remember, every class now has a private Facebook page. We will be using this to share regular updates about learning in your child’s class. If you’ve not yet connected to your child’s page, please check your email inbox or get in touch with the school office.

Morning drop-off / after school pick-up

We know the layby outside of school is convenient BUT it is not for use by families. Even if it is empty, it is not to be used. The double yellow lines are there for a reason. As adults, with a responsibility for modelling good behaviours to our children, please ensure you follow this important safety rule.
