Nursery bulletin: Friday 6th November 2020

Dear families,

The children have had a fantastic week, they are constantly inspiring, encouraging and supporting their friends and the staff – it’s such a pleasure to be part of.

Highlights of the week:

  • Sammy Safe has been helping us talk to the children about keeping ourselves safe at home and in nursery.  We have been speaking about fire safety, some of you may have seen some children practicing ‘Stop, drop and roll’ on our facebook page.  The children have also been using the boogie boards on mud mountain and have been learning how to travel down the hill safely and have been sharing the rules with their friends.
  • The children decided to have the farm out this week, building stables and pens for the animals and sorting them by size and type.  They have been interested in the farm vehicles looking at the toys and pictures in books to see how they work and what their jobs are on the farm.
  • There have been so many creative activities this week, making sparklers, firework printing and painting, bonfire collages and the amazing powder paint fireworks on the ground in the garden, one child said “This is my best day ever!” – such a fantastic statement to hear.
  • Some children have been working really hard practising writing the letters in their name and are incredibly proud of the results – always striving to be the best they can be.

We have had a very busy week baking, the children have made melting moments, brownies, porridge shortbread, cup cakes and popcorn.

Important news:

Keeping cosy

Even though the weather is getting cooler it doesn’t seem to stop the children from playing outside.  The nursery waterproofs are keeping them warm and dry but there have been a few cold hands and ears this week, we would be extremely grateful if you could make sure your child has a hat and some gloves in their bag and that they are clearly labelled.

In service days

Just to remind you that next week is a shorter week at nursery, Thursday 12th and Friday 13th November are In-service days.
